Creating a space dedicated entirely to pastries was the natural next step for Janet Craig, and Siso Design Studio was entrusted with shaping this new direction.
Sweet Janet, a 35 m² dessert shop in Marousi, was designed to extend the philosophy of Janet Craig, translating the brand’s identity into a softer, brighter and more delicate expression. The space follows a clear and understated architectural approach, with gentle tones and clean lines that create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

The interior carries forward the green palette and simplicity of Janet Craig, this time through tiled surfaces and open shelving that enhance visual order and clarity. Materials were selected to keep the compact space bright and efficient, while lighting details and custom display elements add warmth and character.

The floor is composed of light green rectangular tiles, interwoven with deeper green textured inserts in a repeating pattern. These subtle stripes create a gentle sense of movement, guiding visitors naturally from the entrance toward the service counter, while maintaining the space’s organisation and brightness.

A defining feature of Sweet Janet is the large opening towards the kitchen. The baking process becomes part of the daily experience, allowing guests to observe what happens “behind the scenes.” The layout supports an easy workflow, while the display units and shelving are arranged with clarity so the products remain the main focus.

On the exterior, the green metal façade, clean openings and built-in seating along the sidewalk give Sweet Janet a familiar, neighbourhood character. The message “Grasp the handle of kindness and let the sweetness flow” reinforces the openness and friendliness of the space, connecting directly to the project’s central idea:
Bake the world a better place.

Every design decision — from the floor pattern to the lighting, kitchen organisation and connection to the street — contributes to a functional, warm and human-centred environment. Sweet Janet becomes not only a place for good pastry, but a small everyday moment of kindness and optimism within the neighbourhood
